Tahoe

This trip, we stayed 4 nights.  We skied at 3 different resorts.  Actually, Cameron snowboarded 2 of those days.  We did Squaw, Alpine Meadows and Homewood.  The weather was super warm and sunny, snow was a little sparse at times.  But overall, it was fun.  I go pretty fast.  Sometimes I forget about the turns and just go.  Mom was on skis this time, so she kept up pretty ok.  Mom also helped Cameron a bunch cuz it's easier for her to stop and help him out.

The house was pretty big.  We even had one room we didn't end up using.  It was for Gung Gung, but he ended up not coming.  Boo.

We're all smiles!

Is that Lake Tahoe I see?

What is that?  They aren't even strapped on!!!

Checking out the beach at Tahoe City

It was really pretty, but the sun was going down and it was getting cold fast!

Squaw lodge.

Waiting for warm cookies at Squaw.  Wildflour Bakery down in the basement of the Olympic lodge...they make the best chocolate chip cookies we've ever had.  Warm and melty on the inside and a little crispy on the outside.  Yummy!

Alpine Meadows

Homewood.  I'm testing out the magic carpet for Cameron

Ok...it works!

It looks like I'm skiing into the lake!  Yikes!

My front teeth!

Mom thought it would be fun to see how my teeth are growing in.  She's been taking pictures every so often...are they coming in all wonky?

Tennis

Tennis is going well.  I graduated from Red, Blue and Greens to Intro to Tournament in just two sessions.  I heard that was pretty fast.  I go twice a week.  Yes, one is at night.  Luckily, they have lots of lights and it hasn't been too cold, especially cuz we are running around all the time.
What do you think of my form?

First ski trip of the season...

We went skiing with our friends...5 families in one house.  It was a pretty nice house...oops, I don't have any pictures of it.  Unfortunately, we were in for some pretty dismal weather....snow/rain!!!  We went up on Friday morning, so we actually got a few good runs in that afternoon.  It was coming down, but Friday, it was still snow.  Nice and fluffy.  Sometimes too fluffy.
That night, our friends arrived in waves.  The Kams and the McFauls came around 8pm...and the Lews and the Wees came at 1am.  We were already sleeping by then.  It snowed and rained all night, so it took them all quite a while in traffic.  Thankfully, they made it safely.
The next morning, we woke up early and headed to the mountains.  We didn't get to ski much.  The weather was pretty bad...we were getting soaked.  Some of the kids had lessons and stuff, so we weren't able to ski with them.  After a couple of runs, we gave up.  The snow was burning our faces on the chair ride up, but then melted quickly and we were wet, despite our "waterproof" clothes.  And it was crazy windy...sometimes it helped push me down the flat parts.  At least we were with our friends.  That night, we watched Madagascar 3 and ate pizza in the big house with the burning man fireplace.  Fun times.

Books

We've been spending more time in the car this year, driving to and from classes.  One of our stops is the library.  On Wednesdays, in between piano lessons and guitar lessons, we stop at the library and pick up a few books.  Like 25 books at a time.  And we read a lot in the car.  Sometimes Mom has to look back and check on us...it's so quiet...are we in the car?

New Year's in New Orleans

We went to New Orleans for New Year's.  Just a week, but we had a good time.

And that means its New Years Eve!  Fireworks!

Afternoon tea with cakes

More fireworks

Had to do it again!

Cameron and I also worked...almost every night.  We capped sauces and stacked and bagged them.  And sometimes we took the phone orders back to the kitchen, then rolled the cart filled with ready to-go orders out.  It was pretty busy, so we kept moving...until we'd get lazy...but we liked doing the sauces best.
