The great Pacific Northwest

So I'm finally here. After many many days of wanting to get on a plane....

Gung Gung took me for a ride on the boat. And I said....it was stinky cuz there was some leftover bait on the boat. And it was super super fast! And I've played on the beach many times. I could throw rocks into the ocean all day long!

Train Swap

Connor's Loudest train was returned and I borrowed Mavis! Sweet!

Success!!

Finally made the transition to the big bed. It's been rough...but when the mattress to my crib goes missing, I guess I've got to sleep somewhere! I still do my usual 20 questions/requests before bed, but the list has gotten significantly shorter. Anyhow, my bed is really cool and maybe Mom will take a picture of it so I can post it here. It's got pillows all around and a "door" (pillow). Cool. I only like the flannel sheets though. Soft. So yay. Big boy bed done.

Let's see. I can count to about 15 outloud. If you ask me to count objects though...I sometimes double up (point twice) but I'm still counting in the correct order. I can also recognize some letters...probably about 10-15...depending on the day. Pretty good, huh? And I do know my colors. I ask a lot of questions (all day long) but mostly about trains. My favorite songs are those of Julie Andrews...like in the Sound of Music, or Mary Poppins and even Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...though I have not seen these movies. I probably should, yeah?

Big Boy Bed

So, preschool summer session is over and I'm now going to spend some time hanging with Mommy. We transitioned to a big boy bed last night. It was okay. You see, I'm not a baby anymore....so I need a big boy bed. And the crib is a baby bed (well, I actually, really love my baby bed....so this isn't so easy...). Mommy convinced me last night to sleep in the big bed, and after a bit, I did. I spent quite a bit of time talking to bear bear and doggie, but finally fell asleep.

For the transition, Mommy made me (and Cameron) a Thomas the Train cover for our extra long pillow (the extra long pillow fills the gap between the wall and the bed). But...I cannot be bribed with a pillow. But...maybe a silver Percy? or a dragon train? Any new train will do.

Nap time today was more difficult. I did not want to sleep in the big bed. BUT....Mommy did take me to ride the train today....so....after lots and lots of hemming and hawing....I finally fell asleep. I'll probably still be looking for my baby bed. Mommy told me that a baby needs my crib, so of course....I offered it to Baby Addison. She's a baby. Anyhow, Mommy has "promised" the crib to her, so I gotta figure this big bed thing out soon. Hopefully, it'll get easier.

The new me

Okay so not new. But there are a few things "new" about me. Lately, I've been getting super teary-eyed when I get scolded (or not even scolded, just sternly told "no"). Usually, I'll say, I want that, or maybe I'm doing something I shouldn't be....then Mommy (or usually Daddy) will say, "stop doing that" or "no" and I run to the hallway and sit in front of Cameron's room and I do a pouty thing, with some tears and sniffling. My eyes get filled with tears. But after a good hug (from Mommy) it's all better. For some reason, even if it's Mommy who scolded, I still want Mom to hug me.

And lately, I'm not that into feeding myself. Only if it's really good stuff, like ice cream....but usually at meals, Mommy has to feed me the last half of my meal. I do drink all my milk though, and for some reason, I like Mommy to count when I'm drinking. I can count up to 15 now, for reals. It's pretty cool. And I know all my colors, well, you know the basic ones.

School has been good, but it's really taking up a lot of my train time. If I could play trains all day, I would. And it's really awful that there are no trains at school! I'm pretty well behaved at school. Thank goodness I don't have to be potty trained (did someone say train?). I am far from interested. But Mommy has to remember to bring a big pack of diapers. The songs are really good at school. I'm learning some hand movements to go along with the songs, but I still have trouble.

My favorite fruit is watermelon, but I'll eat almost any fruit. I can eat lots all by myself. Mom recently gave me black apricots and white apricots, those are pretty good. I'm okay with the figs we have in the backyard, but I usually only eat one at a time. Oh, and I like choy choy. Usually spinach is a good one. I can eat a lot of choy choy. And steak.

I only like to wear knit clothes. So for pants, I rarely wear shorts because I like them to go down. Same goes for sleeves. I do wear short sleeves during the day, and sometimes I will wear pj shorts for playtime. I will only sleep with long pants and long sleeves...Mom has tried to get me to wear short pjs, but I refuse, even on the hottest nights. I won't wear jeans or khaki pants (unless I wear my long pj pants underneath). Aren't I a strange kid? And knit pants (not fleece) are hard to find for a kid over 2. Luckily, I can still wear the 2t stuff....phew. What will I do next year? Hopefully, I'll get over this knit thing.

Getting my train fix on...

choo choo, choo choo

The second I walk in from school...this is what I do.

First week update

So my first week went pretty well. I grumbled and whined and procrastinated a lot on the last day...but really, I think I was just super tired from a whole week of school. Mom and Dad are going to try to get me to bed earlier next week. So far, I'm really liking school. They sing songs, and you know me, I love it. I think I'm mostly confused on the chinese part.

Mom saw me sitting next to the same girl two days in a row, and she (I don't know her name, or atleast I won't tell Mommy) was sorta helping me out. When the class got up to sing, I was confused. So she put her hand out and gestured me to get up. How nice of her. I think she was trying to get me to do the hand movements with her too.
