(These next few posts will be tied in with Cameron's blog)
This is the view from our apartment.
This is inside the apartment. There were 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I slept in this room with Dad. There is a big bed on the other side of the room, as well as a dining table and chairs. The kitchen is pretty small so the dining table can't be in there.
Of course, we woke up at the crack of dawn. We even had to hang out in the apartment after we woke up....it was way way too early for anything to be open. But around 7, we ventured out. Nothing on the Zeil was open, but we strolled until we found a bakery.
Freshly baked yumminess....we ate back at the apartment. And then waited around some more. It sounds boring, but really, we were playing iPod!
At a more decent hour, we headed out again. Romerburg, here we come!
If there's a tower there...we will climb it.
And climb we did. We got in a nice morning workout climbing the 328 steps of the Kaiserdom.
Thankfully, there was a nice view and a cool breeze up there.
Down down we go.
Romerburg
Nice half timbered houses.
At Frankfurt's Main Tower. It's 200 meters tall. 53 stories up...my ears are popping.
Checking out the view. It's windy and cold up here.
Alte Oper. Nice building. They were setting up for a festival here. Too bad we're going to miss it.
Our little street is behind here.
They make little backpacks for me! With waist belts and everything.
We ate dinner at the "American Festival" they were having on the Zeil. They had a Michael Jackson impersonator and then another country singer. They were "singing" songs and dancing. And they were selling french fries and American pizza. We had ribs and bratwurst and currywurst for dinner. It was pretty good.
I love getting messy.
